This is a major story that should be getting more attention than it is. I’ve been watching the Today Show for an hour now and nothing has been said about it. I know Today is not America’s #1 source for breaking news, but such a story involving two innocents put in the middle of a political standoff should carry the morning’s headline and discussion- not national BFF day, the $232 million lottery winner, or Susan Boyle’s breakdown. I’m disappointed.

The eldest son, Jong Nam, 38, was considered the favorite to succeed his father until he was caught trying to enter Japan on a fake passport in 2001. He reportedly told Japanese officials he wanted to visit Tokyo’s Disney resort.

The payload of the rocket remains unclear. North Korea has said the rocket was to carry a satellite into space, but the United States, South Korea and other nations fear it could be a missile with a warhead attached.
